Aklak Miah established the Plymouth branch in 1995. Encouraged by
the dedication of his students he remained in Plymouth to teach, subsequently going
to pursue a PhD whilst continuing his own training.
Aklak started his martial arts training in Wutan
UK in March 1990 under the supervision of Soon Tuan They
and senior instructors, Mike Lowman, Chris Dyson, Wendy Palmer and the
late Mike McCarthy. He has competed successfully in the Wutan National
Championships in 1990,1991 and today has many students who compete
nationally and some who teach their own classes.
To this day, he remains passionate
about training and teaching all aspects of martial arts.
